Selfies

A picture of me in a taxi for International Selfie Day

August 22nd is International Selfie Day.

Every day around the world many people take photos of themselves, call them 'selfies', put a hashtag on it and send it out into the world.

At the same time there are lots of people who are so uncomfortable with their own appearance that they refuse to take part in this worldwide phenomenon of sharing.

International Selfie Day is about encouraging those people to be proud of what they look like and show the world. It's about using the filters on your favourite camera app to help the world see you as you would like them to. It's about being a part of a global community and seeing the people in the world who help make your day a little better.

Take a photo of yourself, put it up on the web and wish everyone a happy International Selfie Day.

Update

There's a guy on Facebook pretending that International Selfie Day is in November. Don't believe it. He's a falsie.
