We are sad to say that Kim Deal has decided to leave the Pixies. We are very proud to have worked with her on and off over the last 25 years. Despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her. We wish her all the best. I don't know how to feel about this. I wouldn't have thought any of the Pixies as dispensable.
Without Kim Deal, are they just a very well-staffed cover band?
It kinda feels dirty to think about seeing them live with someone else on bass.
I'm sure Kim Shattuck will have a tough time playing on stage to fans who only know one kind of Pixies.
