NDIS, Gonski and a "historic pact with China" are amazing reforms and represent the progress of a nation that has managed to emerge largely unscathed from a global financial crisis.
But polls don't reflect achievements, only perception. People don't like Julia Gillard, no matter how well she does her job. This will, for a long time, be to the detriment of our country.
Gillard is right to make this an all or nothing battle. She knows now that the only way is put it all on the line.
